The Art Class
This is the class that put Lakewood Arts/now Studio Arts on the map. It's the ideal environment for making art because it supports kids' creativity, builds self-esteem, and rewards parents with art works by their children that they'll treasure forever. In this project-based class, kids use a variety of media to explore art techniques and traditions, giving them a solid base for branching out in their artistic pursuits.

Drawing and Painting
Our most requested class! Classic Drawing and Painting instruction is for young artists interested in building their skills upon traditional basics. Even the youngest students can explore the challenges of figure drawing; theories of perspective; and drawing from observation. Students work with acrylics, watercolor, tempera, pen and ink, pastels, and charcoal while engaging their imaginations; gaining inspiration and techniques from the Masters; and learning to See as the Artist Sees.

Art and Animals
This class is Barley's new pet project.
At Studio Arts, we are inspired by the beauty the natural world. Dive heart first into clucks of chickens, herds of horses, the dogness of dogs, facts of frogs and any other intriguing models we happen upon. Some field trips in the neighborhood will require you to drive just a little bit. Projects will involve all media (draw/paint/clay/sculpture) and will be FUN and AMAZING.
