 |
The Art Class
This is the class that put Studio Arts/Lakewood Arts on the map. It's the ideal environment for making art because it supports kids' creativity, builds self-esteem, and rewards parents with art works by their children that they'll treasure forever. In this project-based class, kids use a variety of media (balancing 2D and 3D) to explore Art techniques and traditions, giving them a solid base for branching out in their artistic pursuits.

Students work with acrylics, watercolor, tempera, pen and ink, pastels, and charcoal while engaging their imaginations, gaining inspiration and techniques from the Masters, and learning to See as the Artist Sees.

Independent Study
Instructor will present projects that can be accomplished in several different media, which each student may approach in a different way. Lots of conceptual thinking and a real sense of invention and ownership for the student is the result. We will be combining students with different concentrations in the same class - some in clay, some sculpture, some drawing/painting, printmaking, etc.

Art and Animals
This class is Barley's new pet project.
At Studio Arts, we are inspired by the beauty the natural world. Dive heart first into clucks of chickens, herds of horses, the dogness of dogs, facts of frogs and any other intriguing models we happen upon. Some field trips in the neighborhood will require you to drive just a little bit. Projects will involve all media (draw/paint/clay/sculpture) and will be FUN and AMAZING.
