The Chair Project

‘What kind of chair are you?’ we asked each student...They immediately knew. They also knew which 3 still life objects to arrange in each chair to create a perfect expression of themselves. Kids are so good at metaphor! How does one tell a story with only pictures? Look closely at each set up – created exclusively by each artist – and you will marvel at their storytelling prowess. As a finale, they wrote poems to concretize their statements. Follow the transition from initial drawing to completed watercolor via this series of photographs. A real insider’s view!
